Hey - hi - hello –
As 2019 comes to close and another decade inevitably closes its final chapter; we're reflecting...big time. Not your typical “New Years Resolution to be forgotten in a week” reflecting, but really sitting down and assessing the passing year and figuring out why we’ve come exactly the distance we have. No praise, no punishment – just assessment.
We’re asking ourselves questions like:
What pushed us forward?
What held us back?
What did we have control of?
What didn’t we have control of?
What could we have done better?
What should we continue doing?
Over the course of the last year, we’ve adopted many habits and daily rituals that guide us, hold us responsible and support our mental, physical, and business health.
By adopting these rituals, it’s allowed us to come face to face with our strengths.. and our weaknesses. And if we’re being honest; sometimes that’s a hard pill to swallow, though necessary for a better tomorrow.
Editors Note: Some of these rituals may seem personal…and they are! Our daily habits are the root of our well being – whether mental, physical or business!
›Don’t start your day, until you have it finished
Make a list and plan your success… you wouldn’t get on a plane if the pilot didn’t have a route to fly.
›No snoozing!
You consciously set your alarm to a time you know you have to be up. Stick to it.
It’s the first promise of the day that you get to keep.
›Drink more water
An oldie but goodie.
›Stretch
Get your blood flowing. Find space in your body.
›Meditate
Practice being present. Find space in your mind.
›Exercise
Please remember that exercise is a celebration of your ability to move, not a punishment for eating. A strong body is a productive one.
›Ask more questions
To gain information, better understanding, and challenge your perspective.
›Ask for feedback
...and don't take it personally when it's not great. Use it as a tool for improvement. Asking for feedback is the direct path to delivering more value.
›Acknowledge mistakes
Communicating and offering a resolution is the best way to deal with mistakes. Honesty is the best policy in life and business.
›Over deliver...always!
It's one of the fundamentals of our ethos and it's what makes an experience memorable.
›Be Flexible
Flexibility is reciprocated. Everyone will always be busy, that's life. Make it happen.
›Learn to say "No."
Don't be afraid to make rules that protect you or your brand.
›"Gain" is not only measured financially.
Don't base everything on income and money.
›Build relationships.
They are your biggest asset. If you support, you will be supported.
›Re-Invest in your business.
Always. Any chance you get.
›Do something great...
...and shout about it. It's not bragging, it's marketing.
›Don't cheap out
Especially on your accountant and lawyer. If you do, it will cost you in the long run.
›If it doesn't light a fire inside you...
Don't do it.
